Located in the high country of Southwest Colorado. Wildlife of all kinds are abundant in the area surrounding Groundhog Lake and great hunting and photo opportunities abound. So whether you come to enjoy the great fishing, the trophy hunting, the tremendous photo opportunities, or choose to just relax and enjoy the magnificent vistas, you will not be disappointed. RV sites and Lakeside tent sites are available. You can choose between electric only or full hookup RV sites. Cabin rentals are also available and pets are always welcome. The new convenience store, liquor store, and shower facilities are open for your convenience. There is also plans for a dump station to be available in the future. Groundhog Lake has long been a favorite spot for local area fisherman. One mile east of here you will enter the 2 million acre San Juan Forest, where boundless wilderness is combined with countless recreational areas. Just north of Groundhog Lake RV Park & Campground lies the Uncompahgre National Forest, an excellent area for big game hunting. In fact, dozens of state records have been set for elk, mule deer, and wild turkey in the area surrounding Groundhog Lake! The area also boasts excellant trails and off road opporunities for ATVing and dirt biking. Sites are available from May 15th through November 15th. New owners, the Candelaria Family, welcome you.
